we tell our mate what they want to hear
like do these jeans make me look thin
we say yes they do but the whole time
we wonder how did she pour herself in
they ask if we notice anything new
& we try to plead the fifth
because if we geuss it wrong we then start to wonder
what we're sharing the dog house with
we must always be careful at choosing our words
to make sure it comes out right
because if we don't all we know
is where we wont be spending the night
it's funny but true the line we walk
is narrow & full of turns
when we step off course all we can say
is see what all we've learned
these are some words that should stay with us
always day or night
even if they're wrong don't tell them so
you might just miss the fight
the hot shot poet
