One Horn Horse (a Dutrey)
Unicorn with single horn
rank with magic when they’re born.
Hear the virgin sing to him
lure him close with Psalm-book hymn
stroke his mane then buff head stem,
tell the hunter ‘fore the morn,
“Mount this beast, he sleeps unshorn.
He smiles, he dreams of maidens fair,
runs a hoof through my silk hair,
sniffs my perfume scent in air.
Claim your fame, your pray is won,
saddle him, his horn adorn.
Tie pure silver ‘round his breast
taunt the king with your conquest,
