my hands all greasy
but what am I to say
today I wasn't writing
it's rebuild motor day
it seems to make me laugh
this motor as I tear apart
I remove a few bolts & there it goes
once again I follow my heart
right back to my keyboard instead
making rhymes of sense
not being a motor head
it's no coincidence
never the less I'll do
whatever it might take
I am my own mechanic
one job I really hate
but I do it with pride like anything
I find that I must do
I'm not the best at the task at hand
but I'll do it right & true
I guess what I am saying
no matter what we tear apart
the thoughts just keep on coming back
I'm always a poet at heart
the hot shot poet
