When I look at you
I see things deep inside
I see them in me too
We both try to hide
Your secrets deep behind a mask
Sheltered beneath a smile
I know you ask
Once in a while
Why you can’t scream
Why you cry
Why it hurts to dream
All the while the world rushes by
I think these things too
As I look at you
I think of things I’ll never do
Once my mind is through

| I'm rather an expert on 'low points' in life by now (thank god for medication). It's always better to get it out somewhere. And, truly, it's a good poem . I enjoyed it a lot. |
