A life hangs in the balance,
a tragic overload,
he tried to outrun traffic,
now he's laying on the road,
his body has no movement,
the driver kneeling by his side,
praying for this little one,
in hopes his eye's will open wide,
in his voice a sound of panic,
as he constantly ask why,
so afraid in his heart,
the little one would die,
none the less he held on,
to the injured child,
he could still feel the heartbeat,
allthough it's very mild,
as they carried him away,
as they closed the ambulance door,
I heard the driver say,
the child will hurt no more
