I am moving forward, and I won't look back.
Like a speeding train on it's rusty tracks.
It has reverse, but it's going straight,
Until it arrives at it's final gate.
I once had wealth, but it's long since spent.
A foolish man soon parts with it.
My last dollar given to a homeless man.
Living in poverty was never my plan.
Living for riches is a selfish game.
All of our trinkets age just the same.
They will rust or tarnish or burn it's true.
Can't take them to Heaven along with you.
When you buy stocks or bonds today.
The only thing certain is the broker gets paid.
When you do this you are rolling dice.
In todays world you had better think twice.
I have put my trust in the things I do.
I trusted no one, well maybe a few.
And in the end they all let me down.
If they get to Heaven there will be no crown.
Don't turn around, the past is done.
The only way is travel toward the Son.
If I had done that even in my youth,
I'd have more wisdom and known more truth.
