He looked her way, trying to decide
She glanced over, liking his profile
Hello bounced from side to side
Both complimenting their inner style
Hidden deep in the past lies the truth
Not brought to light, left to smolder
Each not wanting to be the sleuth
Words waiting to create the disaster
Feelings arise, hearts feel love's tug
Time spins on with promises of tomorrow
Little clues get swept under the day's rug
Breath held for the dam to release the sorrow
Each little battle is fought, no victories are won
Avoidance covers life with its golden glow
Building up until can't be contained by one
Words of hate along with his fists show
Gone now is the sweet promise of love
All that remains is to clean up this mess
His one decision to give her a brutal shove
Results in his continued life of bleak distress
She leaves, clenching pieces of her broken heart
He sits sullen alone in his dark hateful shell
Such a waste of hope, loss of life's fresh start
Brother, hope you enjoy being in that jail cell
