Pale the horizon comes
Through the diminishing forests of darkness.
Delicate as an orchid, petals slick with dew,
Image soft on glacial waters.
Light forks splitting the valley in two
And the winged shadow of Kite is looming.
Sun brushes the burnished spires of rugged hills
And all along the rocky ridge day is stirring.
Cattle hum in distant fields,
The wind is merry making in the hormonal trees
And, like a snake uncoiling,
The river winds its way down the hillside,
Water operatic in the amphitheater of dawn.

Hi Dennis,
Can't imagine how I missed reading this one
for last two months.
I'm impressed and disappointed. Impressed
by your easy talent in bringing Nature to life,
that we can almost taste it. Disappointed that
we have not had any new postings from you
for some time now(?)
