Broken Wing

Contributed by BabyJewels94 on Tuesday, 27th March 2012 @ 02:36:07 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

he holds it very carefully
deep within his heart
he has so much he wants to say
but doesn't know where to start
he wants to try to mend his love
like a broken wing
because it is so beautiful
like roses in the spring
so he takes that first step
with persistence and with care
but since this is so sudden
she can only stop and stare
this breaks his heart
but he understands
the love he thought was in his heart
was only in his hands
he tried to mend that broken wing
but only made it worse
and now his heart is broken
and laying in a hearse
he held it very safely
tucked away inside
but since he never let it out
the love he had just died.

Julie Andrews

As someone who held his feeling inside for years
until i learned to let them out, this writing resonates with me. A fine expression of sensitivity and its effect on love.

I understand what its like to hold things inside and never having released it - it hurts a lot. That's why I love this poem

Sadly beautiful and beautifully sad. Nicely done.
