I thought you were there

I thought mothers were there to love?
To hold,
To comfort,
To stand by?
To never forsake or disappear
But I was wrong.
It was a pack of lies,
Of dead promises
That stings the eyes.
How far far from the truth.
One tells you this
And another tells you that
I am confused!
And that's a fact.
Don't hold your breathe
It's not too late
To give one last hug
A hug of fate.
That unravels all your troubles
Just one hug
A hug from someone you love.
That sets free the cadged dove.
