My Prayer

Contributed by suzy on Sunday, 4th August 2002 @ 03:29:11 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

The rain began to pour today
Just what I need I thought
I looked out the window and began to pray
The Lord’s forgiveness is what I sought.

Please forgive me for all the bad
All the times I looked the other way
When I could have given all I had
And instead chose to back down… I prayed

Lord grant to me a new start
So I may be more like you
Where I can daily use my heart
To guide me through everything I do

Help me to learn patience
And how to be kind
I seek repentance
Let me do your will and not mine.

Thank you Lord for listening to me
For being there through it all
These burdens are a load that is heavy
Without you to help me stand I surely would fall.

Amen
