The Voice Inside My Head

Contributed by Shereal_14 on Saturday, 24th March 2012 @ 07:21:32 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The stillness presses upon me
Eating at me; I wish it would just let me be
Soon everyone that I love will have abandoned me; gone forever away
As I silently scream please don't leave me! Just stay!

The evil voice whispers in my ear
I'm ever so sorry my dear
Like the evil witch from Snow White; I shutter with fear
I want desperately to cut off my ears so that I can no longer hear.

The evil voice cackles icily; I shall never leave you
I will make sure that you get your due
Whilst everyone else has abandoned you, I shall stay; it will be just us two
Isn't this just lovely my dear? Now let me show you a different view.

Now grab the blade from the bedside table; you will be surprised how easily the blade slices across the flesh
First one, now two. Come on love, give it your best!
Now it is time for me to go; soon enough you will find out the rest
As I sit here utterly alone I watched my life-blood seep out of my wrists and my chest.

I like this it shows emotions in here but the thing is you write poetry that when it's emotional you make the reader try to find the true feelings of how u feel I like that.

The poem conveys such powerful feelings of isolation and pain. Great writing.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
