Countless faces amongst a crowd,
Endless thoughts yearning to be spoken aloud,
Thoughts of the future, past and now,
Countless faces amongst a crowd.
Faces lost amongst the rush to win,
Souls ignored with scorn, hidden beneath skin,
Unrevealed of where they are going,
Unfamiliar with where they have been.
Many faces, many masks,
Pass each other failing to ask,
A simple gesture, a deed of good will,
If only one could truly see oneself,
If only time could stand still.
True companions, pass each other by,
One space shared, two separate breaths of life, a glimpse of an eye,
Judgment rushed in between, followed proudly by vanity.
Two companions that could have been,
Now blinded by inhumanity.
Like breath on a winters day, warm meets cold, creates a cloud,
Reflections of joy, or shall they endure agony? Suddenly we meet doubt.
Clouded judgement with fear, falling down like rain,
Hearts and minds are found in battle, both afraid of shame,
Each one endeavouring not to be the keeper of pain.
Hands to full with absurdity, to lend themselves to another,
As judgement dances with vanity, one forgets about the other,
Most too busy, Others too proud,
Countless faces amongst a crowd.
