You were beautiful
America
Your starry blue eyes
Cloaked in white tears
Squinting in the
Low light
Stumbling in the
Darkness
Of your own shadow
For justice you cried
You were beautiful
Your flag tied
To the masts
Of every dream
You were beautiful
The thundering cheers
Of your children
Quieted
In the stillness
Of war
For justice you cried
You were beautiful
America
Your plea
Rising in all of our
Hearts

Very poignant. Title and stanzas ring loud of the misguidedness of the many. Very sad, sad, sad. Especially the words "your flag tied to the masts of your dreams.
Thanks for sharing
Blessings
