Higher than the tallest tree
That grows on any hill.
So softly grows my ardent love,
And grow it always will.
Tomorrow it will be taller,
And will someday reach the sky.
Then on into eternity,
And still it’s not as high,
As it will be on future days,
For each day it will grow,
Until the sky runs out of space,
And our love is forever known.
I’ll love you my sweet darling,
Till I’ve run out of rhyme.
But that will never happen,
In this man’s whole lifetime!
So when you look up toward the stars,
And see the moon shine bright.
Be sure my dear that my love for you,
Is taller than that light.
And when you stand below a tree,
That seems to point the way,
The cooling shade that comforts you,
Is my love for you today!

It doesn't need the picture, which may hurt more than it helps. A sweet tribute. |
