Some attend a sunrise service,
To honor the risen King.
Others put colored eggs in a basket,
So their kids won’t learn a thing.
Then sing songs of total nonsense,
Like Peter Cottontail and Easter Parade.
Eating jelly beans and candy,
Filling baskets with grass like hay.
The kids will hunt for hidden eggs,
But there’s nothing wrong with this fun,
As long as you don’t overlook
To teach them of God’s Son.
Let’s put it in perspective
On this Resurrection Day.
A time of joyous celebration,
And not just a time for play.
It’s when Satan was defeated.
And when Death to Life was born.
Religion is now in a person,
Since the Temple shroud was torn.
So have a Happy Easter
As God wants us to rejoice.
But give His Son the credit
When we lend song to our voice.
