Hope's Lies

Slashed and cut by harsh words spoken,
Bitter and cold hope lies... unbroken...

deep inside sorrow... such ideas are hidden,
tainted with promise... that never was given,

hiding true purpose... this seed not yet sowed,
and it will be cut... from the light when it grows,

smothered in darkness... it decays on the ground...
covered in moss... it will never be found,

there it will lie... torn and defeated,
cold in the dirt... its heart yet still beating,

strength comes from pain... hope is a weakness,
rip out its roots... and watch truth defeat it.
