Ice crystals pinprick red flesh on your cheeks
and harsh gusts of wind whistle through snow-capped peaks.
Your knees buckle down and you push off the ledge
plummeting down, bid farewell to the edge
of sanity and reason, memories and pain,
until you touch solid ground again.
