Even if it kills me

Contributed by purplestary on Saturday, 17th March 2012 @ 10:47:26 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I go through life trying as hard as i can,
hiding the truth behind every grin.
I know that there are things I just cannot do,
but i push and i push until i get through,
then later, alone, the tears usually fall
cause i feel like he just didn't hear my call.

have you ever walked an inch in my worn out shoes?
you have not, so don't judge the blues that i spew.
every hour of every day i am usually in pain,
because so much is against me, and i wanna break the chain.

it sucks being told not to do anything that involves being alive,
having all your dreams die, the only way to survive..
so i'm living, but it's more like i'm dying,
just roaming around searching aimlessly for nothing

because nothing is all i am allowed in this world,
well, i guess that's not true, i have the written word..
I also posses a flawed heart, to make me feel useless,
and a back that makes me feel worthless.

so, i go through life trying as hard as i can,
hiding the truth behind every grin.
and i keep doing the things i know i should not,
and the things i know i can not.

what sucks is when people know,
because as hard as I try to hide them,
the flaws continue to show..
so i shrug it off and I try again
because, i have to be the girl that can..

even if it kills me..

I don't know why i expect anyone to understand..

That is a fantastic poem, and i get what you mean, but do you know what? you are perfect in every way God makes no mistakes we just forget that is the case, you just need to remember, what right has anyone else got to make you feel bad about doing what makes you feel good and alive, if you ask me people like that avoid focussing on their own faults by laying them on others instead, dont believe the hype, Once again a great write.

Because I have to be the girl that I can......for me the pivotal line.Striving until the tears fall.I can relate to having a flawed heart and the painful sensitivity that means you feel every tiny bump in life's road but again like you the writing is where I spill my pain and search to find healing.I think people sense sensitivity and that's where they want to offload their own insecurity.I for one am glad you spilled your pain in such a relatable way because empathic poetry brings healing esp to those of us who find this world hard.

Boy is *that* familiar. Sounds like we are in similar places. I love the way you wrote this in all it's simple honesty. Sounds like you are as introspective as I am. Some people _never_ look in the mirror, you know? Good write!
Blessings,
SF
