THE THEATER OF FRIGHTENING DREAMS

welcome to the theater of frightening dreams
where nothing is as it appears, or as it seems
come to the center of the bloody stage
write your own tragedy, put pen to the page
entertain the audience of the obscure and bizarre
you have earned the lead role, you are the star
peering out at the crowd, through dim red light
the seats are brimming with the dead tonight
without further ado, let's get on with the show
the natives are restless, waiting impatiently so
no time to rehearse, just get the ball rolling
or it's for you i fear that death bells will be tolling
act one, scene one, had better be good
for your soul's on the line, it's well understood
the orchestra's ready, they've practiced all day
they'll perform the theme to your life ending play
it's a tragedy, with no hint of romance
finishing in death as the spectators dance
they'll parade you about, put you on display
it's an outrage that they'll treat you that way!
but they don't really care, show no signs of remorse
they'll have you for dinner, you'll be their main course
when your final curtain has eventually drawn
and all life you had in you is obviously gone
they'll pick of your flesh, and seek out your heart
oh lord! why did you have to play their favorite part?
you try as you may, you try as you might
they weren't entertained! so out go the lights!!!

very ,very clever creative writing, the story unfolds and the reader is swept away with the rhythmic fluidity of your words. loved it

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
