Where's Mama?

“I’ll keep my room tidy, make my bed;
I won’t shout, talk politely instead;
I’ll complete my homework everyday;
I promise to do everything as she’ll say;
I’ll never throw or break any toy;
I’ll show her I can be a good boy.
But, Papa, I begin to feel so lonely
With Mama not here beside me.
“I often wake up scared at night,
Walk to your room, know all isn’t right –
You hug me and tell not to weep
But neither of us then falls asleep.
Mama had said she’d return before long
And bring me a baby sister along.
Why doesn’t she talk on the phone?
Where’s my Mama? Is she all alone?”
“Son, she isn’t upset or mad at you;
Mama knows you love her – she loves you too.
She taught me to ward off all your fears,
To bring back your smiles, and dry your tears,
And though she won’t come home again
She’ll be there to drive away your pain:
A star in the heavens that shines so bright,
Visible to you every lonely night –
Or sitting in the garden – a lovely flower
Dancing with the wind every joyful hour!”

Dear respected ammar,
What a superb poem dear!
Apart from melting my heart
Its rhyme and rhythm stun me
Wonderfully coined poetry
Remarkable- I really feel
You possess a great stuff
You will be one day recognized
As great laurels will come to you
Please carry on with determination
Excellent way of writing poetry
May God bless you dear
And also that father and child
I want to write more and more
But, brevity is the soul of wit
In a gist, outstanding poem.
With best wishes, Thanking you, Yours truly,
mvvenkataraman

My word! I don't look at poetry in an intellectual way. I look at the heart and soul and let me tel you this is full of that. my heart goes out to the father and son for mamma is the corner stone and foundation of any family. God bless.
Greetings
