love's feverish phenol

Contributed by ladyfawn on Tuesday, 6th May 2003 @ 03:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

a fever burned strong within' my heart
living now upon my skin it imparts
so hot to the touch, the skin it yearns
with waves of feelings it's fire burns
hot fever, dwelling deep within' my soul
white flaming poisonous; love's phenol
whilst love's dying began turning to opaque
loneliness watched; beside love's grave wake

i should have seen way past love's charm
and known my heart would come to harm
i don't care anymore, let me go quietly insane
giving my heart away is a self destructive bane

fever of love's leaving has left me barking mad
love still lives inside my heart, monomania, egad
no longer hope, for deeply happily in love i fell
love's fever resides to dispel love's fare thee well

'til passion's inflamed furnace burned
love did enjoy an evanescent sojourn
under many piled quilts with love's fever i will crawl
within' a tomb of madness, for love's darkened fall
a diluted solution of carbolic acid may be the only salve

healing once again love's feverish presence, now halved
this fever either overwhelms me; or i am being absorbed
going round n' round within' my mind, as an ever moving orb

~*~

You choice of words is perfect. It creates these amazing images in my head and I feel as though I am experiencing it all with you.

Another wonderful piece of work!
