for the truckin' wifes ect.

Contributed by ladyfawn on Tuesday, 6th May 2003 @ 03:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

i may not still live that glorious life
but yet i am ever a trucker's wife
my heart it knows about delays
and sunshine missed while he's away,
so many nights i feared the day;

where would we be if he did wreck?
i'd sit and constantly the phone i'd check
try to calmly drink coffee out on the deck
sometimes it was a down right pain in the neck,
at times we'd give each other heck;

i-95, on mile post 91 i think
in raritan nj the truck went and crashed
wheels jacked in the air, had he time to blink?
this man i so loved who's heart with mine linked,
when the trooper told me, my heart it did sink,

3am in the morning;

i went into shock not believing 'twas his end
i will not sit here lying; it was so easy to pretend
i sat stunned in our old fashioned rocker
with all my heart to him; i tried vibes to send,
but no answer came to me, that foggy night, my friend;

i thought maybe this was one of his jokes
with all my soul i listened in case to it he spoke
no live answer to come ever again; i almost choked
i wanted this nightmare over; in those minutes i awoke,
i went to the telephone and lit a smoke;

all these things now are in my mind clear as light
i then called our parents; it took all my might
their screaming on the receivers end caused me a fright
just may be true what the trooper said happened this night,
my world went into total blackness, to dark from bright;

to you christine, someday i may write more about this
you've done me good shelby for within' your poetry i reminisce
just both of you, please, for today remember life's sweetest bliss
for when your trucker comes home tired after being so missed,
these is nothing dearer than loves welcoming kiss,

blessings, love nessa x

hiya, i just think i need to leave a note on this poem; as i was pm'd by several people asking me about my life, and one note about how 'broad minded' i could be within' my poetry, in this poem, as in trucker's run, these are true accounts from my actual reallife, my poetry is all from my real life, my husband was a beautiful man, he died 11 years ago, much of my earlier poetry is about him, so yes to christine, i know first hand, it's a hard life, but a good one, yet i also know how it is to loose someone, and raise the kids alone, i stupidly thought everyone knew that about me, lol, sorry, and the poetry christine and shelby have written of late about their trucking lives inspired me, there are many things i yet need to write:)
hugs and love to all nessa x

tragedy in the written proof, but life is lived on by all 3 blessings he left behind, and in this peace you find solitude, much love to you dear
