Foster Father Unsurpassed

Topic: spiritual

Hail glorious Foster Father of our Lord!
Spouse of the Holy Spirit’s chosen Bride,
With God Almighty in most close rapport
For whom his toil and labour did provide.

As Abba Nutritor and household head
He did support his loved ones by his sweat.
That glistened on his high and noble brow.
As fathers toil so often here below.

In silence wrapped, - We find no word he said,
In the Traditions, nor New Covenant
Enduring burdens on his shoulders laid,
In contemplation deep and reverent.

Obedient, he acted promptly on
Commands of messengers from God on high,
As faithful guide to spouse and foster son.
In love’s obedience that asks no why.

He led the toddler Jesus by the hand,
Taught Him to firmly walk on grit and sod,
And helped Him learn to deeply understand,
The Psalms and Prophets of the Word of God.

In silence deep- - the guardian of Him
Who rules the hearts, the heavens and the earth,.
The guardian of Him that rules supreme,
The Lord Creator of the Universe.

Silence – remembering the nativity,
The cave, the angels, shepherds and the flight
To Egypt and the angel’s guarantee
That cruel Herod finally had died

As He grew up he taught Him his own trade
Not knowing what would be His destiny,
Trusting in God alone,- the Lord over Fate,
But overwhelmed and awed by mystery.

Taught Jesus to be a good carpenter,
Explained the tools and various kinds of wood,
To implement the craft with loving care,
How woods were planed, filed, chiseled, sawed or glued.

A Hallmark of profound humility,
Not holding himself worthy to be wed
To the Messiah’s mother, - mystery
And privilege for him by far to great.

In hope and trust and full abandonment,
A life in humble service unsurpassed,.
Although he knew not what the Lord had planned.
He lived by faith alone and hope and trust..

Three hearts here beat in perfect unionj
Considering worldly things and goals for naught,
The foster father, spouse and foster son
Will naught but to fulfill the Will of God.

But love.streamed alike torrents by the hearth,
The Home of the most Holy Family,
To fructify and bless the Universe.
And throb and pulse throughout eternity.

My dear, dear friend. Your writing never leaves me wondering. You tell these stories where any one can learn. That to me is a bible scholar.
It's always a pleasure to read your work
Always luv, blessings,
emy
