When Love Is Absent

Isolated, in your own little world
Unable to do anything but peer through the glass
See the ones you love having all your fun
Left alone, the only one
Remember the days when it was simple to just be you
Only one soul to bear in this small chest
You don’t want to go back to those days of solitude
But still you reminisce about how simple your emotions were
Some say you cannot live until you love
But I think it is those that do not love who truly live
They live in a world without the most painful emotions
That come on when your lover is absent and you need them most
My cross to carry, my sins to bear
No going back to that simple life
Trapped in this self-made prison
Only time will end this torment
Until I am in a lovers embrace, will I ever be free.
