~Bully the bully~

Contributed by shelby on Thursday, 8th March 2012 @ 12:07:53 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I think as long as time existed
there have always been the few
in my opinion were a bit twisted.
Bully the bully you know the one
who would make life miserable
make you feel like coming undone.

~Things are so hauntingly different now~
I'm not sure where it all changed.
Now the kids who were bullied
become the bullies filled with rage.
A gun at school and soon many are dead.

~I scratch my head at the entire horror of it all~

My little brother and I for many a year
were ganged up on day in and day out.
A large group of kids most all related
and they kicked our rears, fought and berated.
So bad one morning we were both about smothered in the snow.

That story ended on a different note
but they left us alone and went away
that will be left for another poem
I still have much on my heart and mind today.

As we got older, still gentle and mild
but we also got a bit bigger, (not as big as the rest still)
but we all had our time and sooner or later
we fought back and took some of our power back.

When we were in highschool I remember many times
that sooner or later, a big brawl would arise
out behind the old safeway everyone dooked it out
kicked the crap out of eachother, then it ended no doubt.

Do I condone violence, no of course not
but back then sometimes once the good butt kicken was done
everyone dusted off and decided to hug and be friends.
Never once did we think of or act upon
taking a gun to school, and in a few moments
change everyones worlds.

Where did it change, I do not know?
Is it the kids are meaner
a new set of rules?
Im not sure, but deep down I think not.

I do know one thing a bully does like
is another group of kids standing behind
and all watching putting the attention on them
well that makes the rest just as bad as him(or her)

Stand up together and put the bully in their place.
Do not stand around and snicker with a goof ball grin on your face.
As the bully degrades, demeans another fellow school mate
sooner or later, if it continues someone will be hurt or killed
then it will be much to late.

How would you feel then?

Dont stand and watch, take action, call a teacher or parent in
it doesnt go away just because you pretend......... do not lie because secretly
you may also be scared of the bully,
if in a group you all stand firm, the bully just lost his or her power.

(TRUTH)!!

I will add a bit of one of my stories.
There were two girls in highschool who would drive down to junior high at lunch time to kick some ass.
Well the one day I got mad because they were beating on one of my friends.
I hit one of them with a book. That took the attention off of my friend but brought down the hands of thunder onto me.
Everyone was afraid of them (including most of the boys) they would chase me in the car, throw bottles at windows, everywhere I went they were for months and months. Because everyone was afraid of them nobody helped and soon
everyone stayed far away from me. One day I was sitting outside during lunch hour and they drove up, one friend was sitting with me and said come on lets go inside. For some reason that set me off. I said no. They got out of their car and started in like always and told me today was the day they were going to rip me apart.
I remember being scared to death, I was so tiny but the fury of hell entered me and I stood up and got up close and said come on, you hit me first, knock me down Ill keep getting up bring it on. I got pushed down, I stood back up and kicked her in the shin, smacked her right in the mouth( I couldnt believe I did that) soon a crowd began to gather)
Long story short......... a circle began to form......... the bullies began to get bullied. If you touch Michelle we are going to all pound you sort of deal........ well it all ended that day........... we have been friends ever since. Stand tall and dont stand around and watch anyone hurt others.......... bring in help and lets all stop the violence!

Wow! Loaded with real true life emotions
and great advice for all kids everywhere
who experience this same type of cruelty
from those who feel the need to follow
the crowd and hurt others in a screaming
to belong. Proud of you for being an
example of overcoming a bully's tirades.
Blessings, Rob

Hi Shel,

A ageless and timeless problem that just never
seems to go away. Will it ever? And so
technologically advanced these days!
You've addressed an issue which tragically
quite often leads to suicide. The strongest
among us, like yourself, find ways of dealing
with it and eradicating it.

Well said, Shel - am sure a lot of people will
relate to this - the bullied and the bullies.
