It stood mounted lanky and pleased,
Reflecting a summer breeze,
Reflecting a mother’s embrace,
Reflecting a warm nature,
Distorted branches twisted in salutation to the skies,
Cradling it with every minor crack,
And each coarse groove.
Discovering these ancestries placed in this soil,
Creating forever colleagues with the earth,
And holding a admiration for a modest setting,
Positioned in the grove by the hands no human can hold,
More valued than mortal gold,
Though disregarded by most who lack eyes that see
For to you and your blinded wisdom,
It’s just a tree

A lovely poem. Trees hold such character and history. They are the lungs of our planet. Yet some mortals just do not see them. Thank you:) |
