WILD CHILD

inside an illusion of life sits a little child
on the outside he is clean
but on the inside he is wild
stairing at the sky, the sun fell down
he turned to me and smiled
then looked away and frowned
the circus will be coming soon
that should be much fun
a good time will be had by all
if the clowns and the elephants come
show me to the exit
i grow tired of this show
follow the corridor that way
and out to the drifting snow
promises fall off of the vine
they lay in the earth and rot
you never know what you have had
just simply what you have not...

I like this. It's a true commentary on the true face of life, and our search for our place in it. Great write. Thank you for sharing. |
