Inspired by the road
Driving lonely through the night
The only thing I see
Is what my lights put in sight.
So many thoughts
Are running through my head
Wondering if I were not here
Where would I be instead
I travel along a path
Not sure if it was chosen or meant to be
Only knowing feelings of being unhappy
This can’t be right for me
Not sure if it’s the road or the music
Or traveling alone in this car
I only keep thinking
True happiness can’t be far
It is a shame
A married man should feel so, so alone
His car is his best friend
Many places to him are shown
This is a time for thinking
About all actions of which to take
Trying to overcome loneliness
And see through people who are fake
Tonight, this distance
That I drive in my car
Allows me to think
In this life I’ve come pretty far
Times of being alone can heal
A bad moment from your day
When all you do is think
And have no words to say
Inspired by the road
Clearing all thoughts on which I thrive
This part of my path was destined
Even if it is a lonely drive
I sort my thoughts
Weighing the cons and the pros
Dealing with what I have in life
Sometimes that is the way it goes
I am what I am
Needing to be cared for and loved as a friend
I may be lonely
But will be happy in the end
I like my lonely drives
Especially during the night
It helps me to see
Many things not shown by any light
