Out of the Ashes

Contributed by deusdeira on Monday, 27th February 2012 @ 05:41:04 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

A tree... it grows and branches out, to all that it may reach,
and with an axe... of raging fire... this tree... saw its defeat,

but even from... a blackened heap... of soft and precious ash,
there will come... a brand new life... and pain will be its cast,

sheltered in a cast so pure... it wont succumb to death,
for icy hands can never burn... but only steal a breath,

so small and weak, this brand new life... surrounded by the past,
but even ash can take to flight...till rain does make it crash,

upon the ground, and when it rests, the rain will bring it life,
where it will grow... once again... and branch into the light.

Ah, the cycle of life, while cruel it can still be beautiful. Man is indeed part of the cycle, for after all, we are all here for a reason. This poem captures a lot, somewhat subtle, yet, not so subtle. Me likes.

Thank you,

Tim
