I'll Meet You There

Contributed by DreamCatcher on Tuesday, 6th May 2003 @ 12:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Far away the wind blows free
Over untrod fields and valleys green
Through uncut trees in forests fair
Yes wild winds blow freely there.

Far away a river runs
With cold clear water , touched by none.
The sun shines with unhindered light
A place of beauty, lost from sight.

Far away the ocean roars
As crystal waves crash on the shore.
Hear the sounds of barking seals
As overhead white sea birds wheel.

Far away the rain doth pour
On grassy fields and distant shores.
Upon the land, upon the seas
Upon the fields, and the trees

I long to see this untouched land
With greenest fields and softest sands.
The others can not see this sight,
And yet I weep, for nor can I.

This distant land, so fair, so sweet.
Untrod upon by any feet
Can not be seen with just ones eyes
This land exists inside my mind.

But perhaps, my friend, when tonight I dream
You and I can see those streams.
And walk among the trees so fair,
Tonight, my friend, I'll meet you there.

I enjoyed the poem immensely.. great flow of words and rhythm, really nice images of your dream land. Speaks to a longing for purity that thouches us all. Or should.
