Until Now

Topic: ChildrensPoetry

My little bear
She's staring
From her spot on the shelf
Watching, waiting, for something to occur.
She doesn't say a word
She doesn't move at all
She just comforts me when I need it

My piano
It sits
In the corner of my room
Unplayed, untuned, yet I can still make sound.
The melodies that spring
From its tiny strings
Fill my room with happiness
And make me dance around
In imaginary rose pedals

My books
They remain in a chest
Their secrets locked inside,
I dare not open them
And read what they hide
For I will fill my consciousness
With unwanted wishes

My writing desk
Its contents all strewn
Mocks me from my seat on my bed,
Begs me to write a masterpiece
Until now
I had declined its offer
And shunned it from memory
Until now
Until now.

It doesn't seem quite like a child's poem to me but it is very well written and I like it.

Photobucket to YPDC.
