Plan Destruction

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The day I've dreaded for so long
Has finally reared its ugly head
What I had pictured was all wrong
Can't forget the words that you said

You flounced in like you owned the place
Ignoring us as you hurried up the aisle
Just seeing you, my heart began to race
It was a horrible feeling, no more denial

All the vile, evil words you last said to me
All the false accusations, all the terrible lies
Flashed through my mind with terrific speed
I'll never get over them, no matter how I try

You barely gave your son a glancing look
So bent on stirring the pot to a roaring boil
You planned on doing everything it took
To mix up my world like water and oil

Didn't quite turn out like you thought
I faced you straight on, didn't flinch once
This battle was over before it was fought
I know you now, makes you the dunce

I meant what I said, that we're done
There's no room in our life for your games
No more hurt, no more battles, not one
Your life, words will bring no more shame

Our family of three will take a solid stance
So much ahead for us to enjoy and share
Going forth, not giving you a second glance
Living our lives with love, hope and care
