01:11:2011....

If I am to become a better man.
Surely that is after all the plan.
Then I should be allowed to forget the past.
And not drag it along to see how long you can make it last.
A constant reminder of who I use to be.
Most certainly imprisons me.
Who do I change what I do tomorrow?
When I am forced to live in sorrow.
When yesterday is my own personal ghost.
I have no choice and must be its host.

Thought provoking and very true.
None of us escape our past but we must live beyond it. Sadly for some living in the past and the pain is what they have to cling to. It is easy to become addicted to the pain and drama . Sad but true. Nice write thanks for sharing.
