We Are Trees

Don't let your failures be your downfall
You can't be who you want to be if you're too afraid to try
And believe me, I've tried, but when you've got a bigger purpose you have to step into the light
You have to step into the light to see what's inside.
But I see that you are BEAUTIFUL.
I've said it before and I will say it again, because its the truth.
Fill your voids with God and you'll soar, you'll fly high and leave these fears behind
But we are the cage that keeps us here, We are our own prisons
But God is the key to unlock our door, with His light we are prisms.
And we're all growing. We're all learning.
Life is a learning process and it's hard to understand.
It's beautifully complex and yet simple in design, and it has meaning.
Your bleeding isn't without reasoning
We are like the trees, we are just as numerous
And with as many varieties, and we grow.
We grow towards the sky, we grow towards God
We yearn for Him like night chases day
and like the trees we also fade away, and we decay
But with rain comes life,
Our branches may break but they give way to new ones, so we change.
We change and with God we won't return to the people we were,
We won't return to the dark places from which we came,
Our roots dig here withing ashes and flame
But our souls are with Him, in a place free from pain.
