Time
The ocean was vast
Full of glimmering islands
..Specks in the sun
Shining their calls to explore
Onto the traveller.
He faces hard choices,
That traveller does
“Which isles shall I pick?
Which shall I leave out?
I can’t manage them all..”
And what if some day
A speck he omits
Were to be spoken eloquently of
On the voyaging screen,
In full praise of the place
Would he not rescind,
Regret his choice
Wishing he could have included
That isle in his plans,
Futile though it now might be?
For his plans never
Were they really his,
But his master’s, his enemy’s,
The one he contends with
Day after day
The giver and taker
Of opportunity
Dimension supreme that weaves through
All life, dictating amounts
Of specks he can pick...
