about a boy

Contributed by Apartment213 on Monday, 5th May 2003 @ 01:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

when i grew up and died had a wonderful life
i lived alone and was never touched
spent every evening walking a dusty road
in my early teens school seemed a hell i would never kill
once in war i pulled the trigger and killed my pal
on my death bed i believed in god so i wouldnt cry
now in death im alive

yes i always thought out loud and never held a grudge
science seemed far fetched and church was for button down folks who forgot to smile
in mid life i bought a house with a fence
discovered rock 'n roll and fell in love
my wife died at 47, held up for money
i gathered myself and smiled again

no one ever said to me
no one ever said come and gimme a kiss
i never had a million dollars and never laughed at movies
i played in the rain and was crazy cos i never wore a tie
so now in death im gonna say
im gonna say let it be
