I placed you on a pedestal.
But the pillars you sledge hammered down.
You cracked and killed my spirit.
Then crushed me to bits on the ground.
I could not make you love me.
Perhaps I tried too hard.
Your love words tasted like honey,
But burned away just like hot lard.
Like the dandelion destroys a fine lawn,
You rooted up love that I once thrived on.
Your pedestal that I built so high,
Lies now neath waves of tears from my eyes.

This is so sad. Well written however. You will find that special someone to put on that pedestal and she will bring you up with her. True love forever more..............
