deviil in the pullpit

you stand there in the pull pit
abusing all your power
secretly watching and waiting
for the right time, the right hour
a wolf in sheeps clothing
your pray on the weak
taking full advantage
of the comfort that they seek
promising peace and assurance
wiating for them to open up
your strength is your endurance
calling yourself a man of God
they never stood a chance
clinging to a ray of hope
you performed the devils dance
it was no secret
even the elders knew
but no one said a word
after all, whats a congregation
if theres no one in the pews
its all religious politics
nothing more to you than a game
but as far a church is concerned
i will never go again!

NOTE: This sick man was eventually caught and had multiple counts of aggrevated sexual assault on a child. He is currently serving his sentence in prison. He will be up for parole in 2015, which will be half of his 30 yr sentence. I submitted this poem with minimal detail, but to keep in mind that if our children stay aware of perps such as these, it can be prevented and if a perp is caught maybe he will serve maximum time in prison. Never underestimate a persons role. Preachers are often among the last to be suspect of such haneous crimes. We need to keep our eyes and ears open, and dont give any one person unessecary power.
