TIME TRAVELER'S ADVENTURES #6

Buckle up my friend, it’s time to go.
Just where we’ll end up, I do not know!
But there is one thing I can guarantee.
This one will cost because you can’t go free!

As my expenses seem to daily rise,
There is still excitement that I can’t disguise!
I turn the key and am almost there,
In the twinkling of eyes, and the raising of our hair!

Now, inside of a castle, that is tall and ornate,
With pillars massive, the roof beams are great!
Music is playing, we even saw a Harp,
The fish being served I believe was Carp.

Looking around, there was dancing going on.
But we were nervous, just trying to stay calm.
We moved in closer just to get a better peek.
What we saw made both our spirits reek.

Right in the center of this massive central hall.
There stood a man, chained to pillars and the walls.
He stretched out his arms and his muscles rippled taught,
His eyes were plucked out but, we did hear him talk,

“Help me to do this Lord, as this will be my last,
Forgive me for straying, in my life that has now passed.
That all may know you are the only One!
The Lord of truth and the Father and the Son!”

The pillars started shaking, it was time for us to leave.
We knew what was coming, these folks would die and bleed.
As Samson gritted all his teeth the roof above collapsed.
The truth of what had happened is a thing that we both grasped!

Completing this adventure didn’t take a lot of time.
Unless you knew three thousand years is what we left behind.
Preparing for our next trip, will make us both reflect,
Where will we go tomorrow, where will we end up next?

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
