Your identity is a sheer mystery
Yet it is clear--you belong with me
Everyday we attend a masquerade
Constantly removing unnecessary masks Off of insignificant others
When will our folly come to an end
The fellow in the corner has caught my eye
He claims without me he would die
Yet I realize he is functioning perfectly
Maybe the hopes I trust desert me
Oh I await the day we will be set free
To discover you would be a lifetime goal
It is you who brings ecstasy to my soul
For now I search through tangled brush
But in time you--my reward--with words and kisses sweet
Shall cause my gentle cheek to blush

Besides liking this poem overall, I really like the premise it seems based on. Thank you. |

After 41 and a half years of marriage
to a wonderful Christian girl, I can
honestly say, the mystery is just as
profound today as it was the day she
said. It's the mystery that leads to the
attraction! Blessings, Robert Edgar Burns
