I have grown fragile and old
Trudging on this pathway
It is quite moist and cold
The air is foggy and grey
My clothes are worn and loose
And my body has survived much abuse
I can hear the leaves and sticks submitting below me
With every step there is no guarentee
As I walk further the path is getting wider
Looking to the left I see the intricate web of a spider
Abruptly, the fog cleared and opened to a meadow
The entire grassland is blanketed in shadow
What could have been natures paradise was dark and sullen
My breath was stolen, leaving words unspoken
The silence, although dark, was peaceful
Suddenly, I felt a tug, a pull
And the darkness was lifted
The sun was bright and warm on my skin
And I felt a warmth and alive within
My mind and body drifted and I was in paradise
The passage was sweet and concise
