BENEATH THE WAVES

A magical garden awaits for me.
I am a mermaid beneath the sea.
But only in dreams which seem to plead,
For me to hold my breath for eternity.
Dreams have a way of coming true
If you dare to dream them just for you.
Scribed now on parchment for all to see,
My dreams are fictional reality.
Erupting like geysers from ocean depths,
Indelibly laid there where sleep is kept.
A nightingale’s sonnet will sound the alarm,
Arise from the waters, do yourself no harm.
A sea cucumber is now near my grasp,
But obstacles threaten as for air I gasp.
This garden I’m tilling has left me all wet.
The fantasy ocean was simply my sweat.
