Winding serpent
Seemingly bound to the earth like your brethren
But lo! Great wings unfurl
Pulse once, twice!
Mastering the winds
Kukulcan, born from
A warrior’s heartblood
Slain unjustly
Now lord of justice
Maker of boundaries
Between the open sky
And the shaking ground
O Feathered Serpent
Bring about a new dawn of knowledge
In this cycle of the fifth sun
Through the priests over whom you watch
Return to us
Immortal king
You who are
The morning star
Incarnate
From the ashes of this world
You will bring about the next
You who are bound to the One Reed
