Shattered moonlight paints the sky with haunting memories
Blanketing the earth below, and so the rivers freeze
See me grin with happiness with thoughts of long ago
Cradling my mind with all the things I’ve come to know.
Whispers dance among my tongue, my heart inside my hands
Thinking of the wonderful, abandoned wonderlands…
Dreaming of the gemlike seas, the golden skies above
Grasping all beyond my reach, the burning bits of love.
Wishing I would treasure what I’m destined to become
Hoping that, one day, these dreadful fears I’ll overcome.
As the ground grows shadowed by the darkness of the sky
All I dare to dream of is her shining hazel eyes
Thinking of the eyes that stare into my mind and soul
Knowing that they are the eyes that hold so much control.
Back when she first giggled, when she first pronounced my name
Everything I lived with never was the very same.
All was brighter than it was even the day before…
Surely, I’d be selfish if I asked for something more.
I am not one to be placed under a certain kind
Nor one to be known according to another’s mind.
I am not identified by labels, not by names…
And I am not discovered by the golden picture frame…
