Histroy

Topic: oops

History is the beginning and end
Families start, with a friend
Hearts melt together, united
Future begins undivided

One becomes two, two leads to you
One chain begins, branches into two
The past coaches the future unerringly
But is reported to us sparingly

Searches made through the years
Wanting to see through the tears
What made us, who we are
Did our journey begin afar

Youth doesn't really listen
Walks when the old stories begin
Who cares about the past tales
Against the bright future, it pales

By the time we question our place
Where do we fit into the world's race
The stories have faded to a dull roar
No one left to tell them anymore

Only then do we wish we had heard
The stories once thought absurd
Heed this one heart's painful crash
Listen, talk, tell, spread the past

Our children need to know to avoid
The errors, the hurtful overload
We're all tied to one another at some degree
When all is known, history can run free

Share the stories, tell the many tales
Back through time, children should sail
So much knowledge yet to impart
My child, I'll tell you all from the start
