Sing for me

Contributed by samray33 on Tuesday, 17th January 2012 @ 09:30:32 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Sing for me a swimming song that reaches farther than you've ever tried.
Choke out the confusion, the irresolution, and decide.

I'm waiting
Yes, I've built a wall to keep you guessing.
But it never was my intention to completly push you away.

And the you that I'm referring to is for anyone I hold dear.
My father mainly.
My sisters too.
And to people in Alabama, I've made it clear;

I'm hungry, starved by my own actions.
I need to leave this town
Never need to come back here
Dispite all the gross attractions.

The song that I am looking for
For you to sing to me
It is not exaclty lyrical
Just a release I need you to see.

I need to know what goes on
behind your silent eyes.
I want for you to sing it
and when I say singing
I honestly mean I just want you to realize.

I notice that I am a hyprocite.
I refuse to outwardly show you who i am,
Where I stand,
And what I feel.
I have a wall that is up to protect me
But i guess that makes me a sham.

I need to by sung out of my reprieve,
From underneathe this rock where I've been hiding.
I am so very tired of having only my bottle for confiding.

And as I sit back laughing at my own rhymes,
The lines and scribbles,
I realize there's only one thing I am trying to say.

I am not confident enough to be who I need to be.
So i need a song,
A song to make me stay.

O.K. You got it!

Around her head she wore a yellow ribbon,
She wore it in the springtime, and in the month
of May, and if you ask me why the heck she wore
it, she wore it for that soldier who was far far away.
Go to your left your right your left! Ooohrah!

I went to war but had my Military Police Training
in Anniston, Alabama. I am a Florida boy but has
a sister who has lived in Birmingham for 30 years.
I think you should join up, get some discipline and
experience and even education and find a sense of
structure and family! No charge for the song by the
way. Blessings to you! Robert Edgar Burns (Rob)
