Golden Light

Contributed by dvtpdw on Monday, 16th January 2012 @ 06:01:38 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Darkness drops its blackened veil down
Cutting off light's golden entry all around
It carries a weight that has no measure
It denies its circle every pleasure

Walls it builds with toughened nails
Thick, sound proof against the wails
It creates the illusion of an open door
Turned around, is it ceiling or floor

Happening here, no memory of arrival
Clutching hands, fearful of survival
Searching, feeling along each wall
Scrambling, crying, trying not to fall

Bleakness beckons, its siren unwelcome
Its unique scent, more fragrant to some
Shrouded in falsehood, mockery its game
Enter its world when no one else to blame

Finding oneself in this box time to time
Hard to understand under what crime
A place of pain, hurt, loss of self
Putting unsure life on a high shelf

Light breaks through a slight crack
Within grasp, a new untraveled track
Push deep, look with clear open eyes
Cleanse the mind with a deep sigh

Knocking walls down, freedom in sight
Darkness be gone, send in the light
Release the pain, feel hope's swell begin
Wings of flight, love blossoms within

Light holds no bounds, restrains nothing
In its circle, joy joins faith; an endless ring
Dancing carefree, hands entwined forever
Feel the warmth, under golden light together
