Farewell Night

On the last night I spent with you
We had dinner in a bright dining room
Happy smiley faces away from gloom
Sat eating pizza with some mushrooms.
The meal was great, the atmosphere too
We enjoyed the night full of delight,
talked and laughed, did all we might.
When everyone else gave us a sight,
we said to them, "We're alright."

Then as the night was getting late
And nothing else left on our plate
You said, "I guess this is the time, mate.
To say the word we both might hate."
"This last three years has been so great,
You've been a good friend we've ever met.
Don't let this friendship left to forget,
because that will make a big regret."

Another goodbye in the mid of February
after a simple reunion in January
Why does everything seem so momentary?
That the day we met is now a history.
Those days of laugh, less misery
The faces I love so very dearly
Will soon I see so very rarely.

"Goodbye dear friend", you said to me
Holding those tears wished I wouldn't see.
"We wish you luck and there shall be
some more happiness wherever you'll be."
"So long true friends", I said at last.
"I pray our friendship will never rust,
I'll take it with me cause that's a must.
For I'm holding on it like a trust."

Hugs and kisses were never enough
to end the night for me seemed tough.
As we separated that night I cried,
In my prayer I said to God,
"Please bless my friends, the ones I love
And let this friendship forever last."
