Grief

Soft the heart that only beats with knowledge of your content,
That waits in shadows of patience, feeling every edge of life
That pierce your feet, that would ever deny the light of inward
Smile.
For I am friend.
Not through mind nor social advantage, but from imprinted soul.
From years of ploughing fields of loyalty of trust, where love in
Its purest form grows.
Hand to plough and never looking back, the way I am, the way
I can only be, and wishing that the windows to the soul were
Closed, blinded, not to feel, not to see, not to know what I cannot fail
To know, that the ties that bind are severed, and there hanging by a
Thread is me, for in the pain of never wanting to know nor let go
I remain yours.

Now, that is excellent.
So much devfotion and love. I love this poem. Even though you have it under grief / tragic category it seemed so, uh, non-griefy. Sorry, but the beauty of the wording seemed uplifting. Perhaps I need to re-read. I just generally try to go with my initial reaction.
